The FlexLock is Hornady’s state-of-the-art jacketed hollow point, and is designed to deliver extremely effective terminal performance even if the threat is shielded by thick clothing, plywood, sheet metal, or even safety glass. The FlexLock’s Interlock band fastens its alloyed lead core to its tough copper jacket, which prevents the two components from detaching. That conserves momentum – the very thing the bullet needs in order to tunnel through soft tissue. The FlexLock’s Flex Tip is merely there to keep the JHP’s nose cavity from becoming obstructed by debris. It ensures that the bullet arrives within soft tissue without losing its capacity for terminal expansion beforehand.
