This ammunition is perfect if you want to hunt medium game with a rifled bore 12 Gauge shotgun, though! Federal Premium’s Freight Train Copper series shells are also loaded with the lead-free slugs you need in order to hunt on protected land!

This shell’s 300 grain (i.e. around 0.69 ounce) projectile isn’t just accurate because of its ballistically efficient polymer tip and perfectly uniform weight distribution. The polymer sabot behind it is engineered to promote flawless alignment with the rifling, and neatly breaks away from the slug as soon as its job is over.

Good luck to any deer that takes one of these slugs in its broadside. The monolithic slug’s external skives enable it to split open up wide, quickly and evenly, and its toughness enables it to avert the kind of fragmentation that could produce rapid momentum loss and resultant shallow penetration.
