These 12 gauge, 2 3/4" shells use #7.5 shot measuring approximately 2.4 millimeters in diameter. This low-recoil load has a muzzle velocity of 1,145 feet per second, generating a gentle kick while retaining enough power for good patterns at shotgun range in combination with the Triple Plus wad.Birdshot, as the name implies, is a sporting load designed for shooting birds (whether of the feathered or clay variety). While it should be handled with the same care as all other firearms and ammunition, it is not effective as a self-defense round and should not be used for personal protection.

Great trap loads

Posted onI've been using these Federal shells for years. They've changed the box graphics but its the same load. Used to buy in retail discount stores for $6/box, those days are gone! They pattern well and still have a full one and 1/8 oz of shot. Only negative is they do not reload well, these are throwaways. Nice hunting loads too.

Posted onMy home is made of siding on the out side, insulation then wall board. Not much protection from a rifle, but up close a twelve gauge will do.
