12 GAUGE NOBELSPORT LOW RECOIL 2-3/4" 9 PELLETS 00 BUCKSHOT (250 ROUNDS)
It’s not called “kick” because people enjoy it. Recoil won’t ruin a long stretch of target shooting, but it can make it less comfortable. Recoil’s also not helpful during a home invasion, when it can jerk the muzzle off target with each shot. Why are we bringing all of this up? Because it underscores what’s special about this Italian-made 12 Gauge shotgun ammunition. It’s low recoil. It shoots more comfortably. It makes it easier to maintain aim on the target as well, which is of especial benefit if the “target” is a deadly assailant.
This shell has a full nine-pellet payload of 00 buckshot; same as many law enforcement rounds. It reduces recoil by virtue of its cushioned plastic wad, as well as its comparably low 1,200 fps muzzle velocity.
Is a low-recoil shell weaker than usual? By design, yes. But you’re still talking about ~1-1/8 ounces of 1/3” diameter lead balls cruising out of the barrel at supersonic velocity (3 dram equivalent). Counted all together, the 00 buck has about 4-1/2 times the muzzle energy of a 9mm. Whether that neutralizes the threat or not depends entirely on the shooter.

Posted onI recognized the brand but didn't remember why till I looked in my box of primers. I've been reloading with NSI for years. My shotguns go bang every time. Be it semi auto or single shot.

Great round, one flaw.

Posted onThe round is fantastic! Low recoil and reliable. One complaint is that it is not really 2 3/4". I used it with my Keltec KSG. Regular 2 3/4 Federal Birdshot I can fit the full 7 rounds per tube. With this ammo I was only able to fit 6. It is slightly longer than the standard 2 3/4" rounds but I would still buy it again. Just a little FYI.

Good ammo, low recoil

Posted onCompared these with the Fiocchi low recoil 00 buck. Both contain 9 pellets. Shot about 50 shells each through my 12 gauge Mossberg. These kick a bit more due to slightly higher velocity and differences in wad design, but overall still comfortable to shoot compared to the full twelve pellet 00 buck. It does not throw off the aim as much compared to full powered 00 buck so follow up shots are easier to make. These cost a bit less per shell than the Fiocchis, which I guess could be due to the higher cost of wad material in the Fiocchi low recoil shells (they have some sort of fancy honeycomb wad). So it's a trade off - I would say if you are looking for 00 buck with less recoil, go for the Fiocchi, but if you are looking for better value per shell then go for these.
