Look into this round’s clear blue plastic cap. You will see 31 grains (1/15 ounces) of #12 shot. Those lead beads are each tiny at 1/20” in diameter, which is why a single 22 LR round is able dish out such a dense cluster of death. Its light payload and tepid 1,000 fps muzzle velocity add up to extremely little felt recoil and a quiet report, as well as all the power needed to whack a rat with extreme prejudice. The quiet shell is also useful for acclimating young hunting dogs to the sound of gunfire.

IMPORTANT: Do not fire this ammo in a firearm with a ported recoil compensator or ported barrel. Doing so could cause a pellet to ricochet back at you (not fun). This ammo is too weak to reliably cycle a semi-automatic. CCI also explicitly advises against using it for self-defense.
