When we first saw that Federal was offering Black Packs, we were a bit skeptical. Why would Minnesota’s preeminent ammunition manufacturer be getting into the pudding business? Wouldn’t pudding filled with primers be dangerous to bite into? But then we saw that it was “Black” and not “Snack,” so naturally we ordered several dozen cases of this fine 22 LR ammo.

This cartridge’s 38 grain bullet is great for anything you could need a 22 LR bullet for. With its fast muzzle velocity and copper plating which prevents lead buildup in the bore, it’s exceedingly accurate to make target shooting fun. And with its softness and hollow point nose cavity, it’s able to start expanding immediately following the moment of impact to kill a varmint quickly.

We’re glad Federal’s rimfire primer is inside this round instead of a dessert, as its non-corrosiveness and responsiveness are better showcased there. This round’s clean burning propellant and quality brass casing deliver reliable performance no matter what you use to shoot!
