About This PMC 5.56x45mm Ammunition

This 5.56 NATO cartridge from PMC’s X-TAC line of ammunition has a 62 grain projectile, seven grains heavier than the bullet sported by the common M193 round. This round’s bullet’s green tip indicates that it has a steel core, which strengthens it so considerably that you can reasonably expect to penetrate steel plating and other rugged obstacles while firing it. (This bullet’s steel composition will cause it to attract a magnet as well.) The bullet further offers a full metal jacket which will protect your bore against the rapid accumulation of lead residue, which along with its very fast 2,920 fps muzzle velocity even further promotes its penetrating abilities.

This versatile cartridge will serve you well whether you are after a solution for training, target practice, or even self-defense. As a PMC round it features a factory fresh brass casing manufactured according to exact tolerances, which along with its Boxer primer suits it perfectly for handloading. Now is as good a time as ever to go green.

    I have been buying PMC now for a couple years because it is usually a great price on bulk.. out of a 1000 rounds sometimes I get one or two missing a primer BUT all of my ar platform rifles cycle pmc without ever having a malfunction. I am happy with it. At 250 yards it's within about 2inches and consistent.

    Good ammo feeds thorough anything. I've shot thousands of rounds of this stuff through 9 AR's, 3 mini 14's, a M4 (yes a real one), a Galil, and some bolt guns.     I run this through my Stag Model 6 Super Varminter with a Nightforce Benchrest 12-42×56. 600 yard groupings are amazing for a relatively inexpensive round. But purchase where I get the best buy which for the most of the time it's Ammoman but sometimes Cabelas marks the single price of the green tip down low enough that I can get it just as cheap.     Very good quality ammo. Compared it to Lake City 855 with 3 different AR uppers (14.5" w 1in7 twist; 16" 1in9; 18.5" w 1in9). PMC Shot slightly better than Lake city. LC had errant shots more often per 10rds. Plus, it runs! No problems with feeding / cycling & firing. Have run a couple thousand rds of this. Although it's not my predator hunting rd., it is my target rd. I make regular hits on steel from over 500yds using this.

    PMC ammo is full power and has always delivered excellent accuracy in any gun I've fired it in. Great brass for reloading too.     I normally only buy Lake City bulk but tried this PMC instead at a cheaper price. The rounds were all neatly boxed, the brass was so clean and shinny and the best part for me is it shoots a little better out of my AR than the Lake City. All in all great to stash or plink with.

    I actually didn't make the purchase, my brother did, we split a case to try it out.. I gotta say, we're both sold, our new ammo of choice.. My 2 ponies (Colt Heavy Barrel AR's, brother shoots the same only he has 3 in his stable) grazed through 500 rounds like it was their last meal, same with my brother.. Nothing but smooth, not only were they smooth, but amazingly accurate, I broke out the vice, shot 100 yd and 250 yd, at a 100 nothing more than a 1/4" drift, every shot was in a 50 cent piece, at 250 they were all in a 4" circle, once I factored in the breeze, the circle shrunk to 2.5".. Lets put it this way, if I were shooting at the enemies heart, there would be 500 killed if any were lucky enough not to die on contact, no matter what they were done fighting.. BUY AS MUCH AS YOU CAN, best bang for the buck out there..

    More consistent than the bulk lake city I have. I haven't reloaded any but I imagine it'll load up a lot easier than mil surplus (no primer crimp - thinner brass to work - I doubt I'd reload more than twice anyway - I usually just reload, stash the reloads, then buy new.)
