This cartridge is loaded with the 223 Rem’s standard 55 grain projectile. It’s an FMJ, with a solid copper alloy jacket that works well to prevent feeding jams and rapid barrel fouling. The FMJ is typically favored for target practice, although it will burst apart into shrapnel if it hits soft tissue at around 2,500 fps or faster.
Igman teams up their nonmagnetic FMJ bullets with non-corrosive primers and clean-burning propellant, so this ammo won’t leave too much soot inside your rifle. Igman also loads their own brass cases, which they anneal at the factory to promote cleaner performance and more dependable functionality.
