It can be hard to coordinate your ammo with your clothing -- unless you exclusively wear brass or nickel colored outfits, that is. With this 223 Rem cartridge by Winchester, however, you’ll finally be able to wear purple to the range just like you’ve always wanted! This round’s casing wears its plum hue because it had been intended for training use by the DHS. We say it’s better off in your capable hands, though.

This round is crowned with a 62 grain open tip projectile. Its relatively heavy weight for its caliber better immunizes it against wind drift, and the orifice at its tip indicates that its core hardened within the jacket rather than outside of it. Without voids inside it, such a bullet keeps its course exceptionally well downrange.

In making this round purple, Winchester didn’t make it with any less than their usual high standard of care. The casing is brass and hearty, certainly the sort that deserves several visits at a reloading press. Winchester’s sensitive Boxer primer makes training gratifying, and their clean burning propellant keeps rifles in better condition.
