This round’s FMJ is comprised of a solid lead core and a gilding metal jacket – there is no steel hidden in there that could get it banned at any commercial ranges. The FMJ’s perfect for target shooting, but the non-expanding bullet is not great for hunting anything larger than varmints. At 55 grains the bullet delivers a muzzle velocity nearly three times the speed of sound, and its cannelure will help to prevent recoil from jarring it out of its ideal seating depth.

Winchester’s nonmagnetic and non-corrosive Boxer-primed ammo is loaded with new production brass cases. The cases are only grayish around their shoulders because they weren’t polished up following the heat treatment process which made them suppler to promote cleaner ignition and more reliable extraction. Heat-treated cases are also swell reloading components!
