223 REM WOLF POLYFORMANCE 62 GRAIN HP (500 ROUNDS)
Want to enjoy smooth plinking or ballistic performance somewhat comparable to the U.S. Army’s M855 cartridge, but without spending a lot for it? Wolf thought you might and so they have you covered with this fine Russian-made 223 Rem ammunition! This cartridge features a 62 grain hollow point bullet that leaves the muzzle at a blistering 3,025 fps velocity. The cost-effective bullet is comprised of a simple lead core and bimetal jacket, the latter of which itself is made of a steel under layer and copper outer layer. Hard steel does as well a job of preventing deformation under intense chamber pressure as solid copper would have. Of course, steel is magnetic, and more importantly might strike up sparks when it hits a hard surface. If your favorite range bans magnetic projectiles, their rangemaster will turn his nose up at this ammo.
Wolf cuts costs even deeper with their steel shell casing, which removes the need for so much valuable brass and is further coated with heat-resistant low friction polymer for clean performance and reliable feeding and extraction. Wolf’s modern Berdan primer is non-corrosive to protect your rifle against rusting. Naturally, these steel cased plinkers won’t be of any use at your reloading bench. Still, that’s of little concern if you hadn’t meant to handload anyway, and picking up your spent casings with a magnet is fun and convenient!
