This 224 Valkyrie round from Federal’s American Eagle line of ammunition features a 75 grain total metal jacket projectile. Like the FMJ, this bullet’s jacket will stave off the rapid accumulation of lead residue in your rifle’s bore as you fire it, preserving your accuracy and permitting less frequent cleanings. As the “total” suggests, however, this bullet’s jacket encloses its base as well. That means hot propellant gasses won’t be able to aerosolize the lead in this bullet’s core, making it ideal for use in poorly ventilated indoor ranges as well as for high volume shooters who wish to limit their exposure to toxic gasses.
