270 WIN REMINGTON HYPERSONIC BONDED 140 GRAIN PSP (20 ROUNDS)
Technically speaking, “HyperSonic” refers to something traveling faster than five times the speed of sound. Make no mistake: this Remington HyperSonic Bonded 270 Win cartridge does not attain a muzzle velocity in excess of 5,625 fps. If it did it would most certainly blow up the rifle – not to mention the majority of the unfortunate sap who used to be holding it.But it’s still quite the zippy hunting ammo. Thanks to Remington’s proprietary blend of propellants, it’s able to consistently launch its 140 grain projectiles to a muzzle velocity of 2,975 fps. Factor in the bullet’s 0.360 G1 ballistic coefficient, and you’re guaranteed a flat trajectory that’ll carry 1,500+ ft lbs of energy to ranges up to around 315 yards!
This cartridge is armed with the Core-Lokt® Ultra Bonded® – a bullet so fancy it needs two ®’s. “Bonded” is no exaggeration in this case. When the outstandingly tough bullet collides with its target at high velocity, it resists fragmenting apart so it can inflict a very long wound channel. Its target only gets tougher luck courtesy of the pointed soft point’s capacity for broad and uniform terminal expansion.
Remington didn’t invent the 270 Win, but they sure know how to load it. Top-end reloadable brass cases, hypersensitive Boxer primers, and fast-burning powder that doesn't generate excessive pressure will treat your rifle like gold – and your quarry considerably worse.
