The Core-Lokt is usually a soft point bullet, but this round’s 170 grain projectile is a hollow point. Unlike most of the HPs you’ll find loaded in rifle cartridges, this round’s bullet is designed to undergo terminal expansion. Once its nose cavity fills up with pressurized deer meat, it’ll fan outward to potentially double in diameter.

The Core-Lokt bullet’s jacket is embedded within its solid lead core. Its little raised ring does a great job of reducing fragmentation after impact, thus ensuring the bullet retains enough momentum to plow deeply into its target.

This round’s Core-Lokt HP weighs 170 grains. Once it reaches its advertised muzzle velocity of 2,200 fps, its 0.254 G1 ballistic coefficient will see that it carries over 1,000 ft lbs of energy to almost any point within 200 yards. Expect a trajectory that peaks out at 4.23” if you’re aiming to 200 yards (so long as you have 1.5” sight height).
