This cartridge is loaded with a heavier 180 grain projectile. Its muzzle velocity is lower at 2,542 fps (24” test barrel), but its resultant higher ballistic coefficient (0.407) means it does a great job retaining energy and resisting wind drift hundreds of yards downrange. The soft point is a cost-effective hunting bullet. No heavily engineered polymer tip or jacket – just the reliable penetration and terminal expansion that’ll anchor a buck on the spot so long as it sinks into the sweet spot.
