Remington's inexpensive but effective HTP ("High Terminal Performance") hollow points are great for self-defense purposes. This .357 Magnum version of the HTP uses a 158 grain semi-jacketed hollow point that's a little heavier than average for the .357 Mag. It gives up a little bit of muzzle velocity for extra bullet weight, barely slowing down this fast-moving cartridge while enhancing penetration so your rounds are more likely to incapacitate an attacker. Shot placement is still king, though, and the low price of HTP rounds makes it easy to stock up and get some trigger time with your revolver so you'll be better prepared for self-defense situations.
