.38 SPECIAL +P FEDERAL 125 GRAIN JHP (1000 ROUNDS)

These .38 Special +P semi jacketed hollow point rounds are a quantum leap ahead of the old school lead round nose bullet for self-defense purposes. Federal's load, available here in a 1,000 round case with law enforcement packaging, uses a light 125 grain bullet and a high pressure loading to shore up the .38 Special's relatively low velocity. These rounds use non-corrosive Boxer primers and reloadable brass casings with nickel plating for increased resistance to the elements. They are a great carry option in a variety of revolvers ranging from snubbies to .357 Magnum pistols in the hands of recoil-sensitive shooters.

Some older revolvers may experience unsafe levels of wear when firing +P ammunition. However, note that SAAMI decreased the pressure of "standard pressure" ammunition in 1972. Prior to that date, .38 Special "standard pressure" ammo was comparable to today's +P rounds. Therefore, many revolvers manufactured in the 1960s or before can handle +P ammo with no problems.
