40 S&W WINCHESTER RANGER 165 GRAIN BONDED JHP (50 ROUNDS)
Whether your .40 caliber pistol rides in your holster during street duty hours or rests close to where you lay your head at night, you'll want it loaded with premium ammo that gives you the greatest advantage in a gunfight. These bonded jacketed hollow point (JHP) rounds from Winchester's Ranger line have been proven very effective in the real world and are trusted everyday by many sections of state and federal law enforcement.Winchester's bonding process permanently fuses the lead core of the bullet to its copper jacket which helps keep the JHP round from fragmenting and losing momentum when it expands in the target. This not only helps it penetrate deeply to reach vital organs, but also helps it to bypass intermediate barriers such as auto glass which have been known to deflect many standard handgun rounds. The copper jacket is cut into a petal pattern where it meets the hollow cavity and assists in creating wider, more reliable expansion.
The combination of massive mushrooming and weight retention makes these rounds ideal for dealing with any threat you may encounter. The 165 grain bullets provide lighter felt recoil for faster follow-up shots. Out of a four inch barrel, these rounds leave the muzzle at 1,140 feet per second with 476 foot-pounds of energy. Tested against barriers like steel, plywood, and even auto glass, these rounds always penetrate the FBI suggestion of 12 inches in ballistic gelatin at a minimum and expand at least .20 inches in diameter.
