This shell’s 3/8 ounce charge of #6 steel shot contains 118 pellets total. That is much fewer shot pellets than you would find in a 410 Bore 3” 11/16 oz. #6 lead shot load, but that’s only because steel possesses a significantly lower density than that of steel.

This shell does make good use of the few shot pellets it contains, however. It is loaded to a piping hot 1,400 fps muzzle velocity, which gives steel shot the extra push it needs in order to exhibit good stopping power over longer distances. Its Xpert Steel Shot is treated for added corrosion resistance, which keeps the pellets from becoming too coarse to pattern efficiently.
