The vast majority of full metal jacket projectiles contain lead cores. They emit vaporized lead during ignition, which ain’t exactly as good for the human body as yoga and kale smoothies. This round’s FMJ is special because its core is made of zinc – the main ingredient in modern pennies.

It should be noted that zinc is significantly less dense than lead. That’s why this round has an unusually light bullet, and also why it has a high muzzle velocity. Even so, this is not overpressure ammo, nor is it supersonic.

This round’s lead-free FMJ is not frangible. It also doesn’t deliver terminal expansion, and as such should be reserved for target shooting. Each Super Clean load is loaded with a special Boxer primer – totally devoid of any heavy metals – and a brass case that a handy handloader can handload.
