About This Tela Ammo 5.45 x 39 Russian Ammunition
Honor thy parents. Love thy neighbor. Pet thy dog. These are all good rules to live by. Here is one more: when you run out of 5.45X39 ammunition, come straight to the Ammo Man for more!Tela Impex isn’t the manufacturer of this ammo. The Florida importer sourced it from Azerbaijan, where it was loaded with the same types of components that make Tula and Wolf brand products more affordable.
This cartridge’s 65 grain FMJ isn’t quite the same as one you’d get from an American manufacturer. It has a solid lead core, but its jacket is mostly made of steel instead of copper alloy. It won’t damage a barrel, but it can damage range equipment – the reason why many indoor ranges don’t allow bimetal-jacketed bullets.
This cartridge’s case is made of steel, too. Steel’s not as supple as brass, which is why it (A) isn’t reloadable, and (B) may allow more fouling into the action. Steel doesn’t cost as much as brass, either, which makes it the budget-conscious solution for high-volume target blasting.
This ammo is noncorrosive. It also ships fast – and for free – when you get it from your pal the Ammo Man!
