About This Hornady 5.56x45mm Ammunition

Got a black gun? Get some BLACK ammo! Hornady loads this fine 5.56x45 range ammo in the great state of Nebraska with high-quality components all around. It’s a great way to sharpen your aim with any kind of firearm whether it’s a rifle, carbine or pistol!

This cartridge’s bullet weighs 62 grains. But because this is not M855 ammo, the bullet lacks a steel penetrator core and accordingly cannot attract a magnet. You’re looking at your standard lead core FMJ, with a hard and concentric gilding metal jacket that prevents a feeding jam before the bullet proceeds to deliver a flat, consistent trajectory. There are better cartridges for self-defense (i.e. ones loaded with SP or polymer tip bullets), but if this ammo is all you have in your emergency stash then you would be able to protect yourself.

Hornady is one of the all-time great American manufacturers. This ammo is loaded with their concentric and consistent brass cases, as well as the Boxer primers handloaders need to see before they can work their magic. You get ten boxes to a case of 200 – not to mention free shipping!
