This cartridge’s bullet weighs 62 grains. But because this is not M855 ammo, the bullet lacks a steel penetrator core and accordingly cannot attract a magnet. There are better cartridges for self-defense (i.e. ones loaded with SP or polymer tip bullets), but if this ammo is all you have in your emergency stash then you would be able to protect yourself.
