Its lead core and gilding metal jacket can’t attract a magnet, and the latter hardens the bullet enough to ensure smooth feeding and low barrel fouling. The bullet’s boat tail makes it slightly more aerodynamic, which allows it to retain more of its velocity while in flight – not to mention resist getting blown off course by crosswinds.
