5.56x45 WINCHESTER 62 GRAIN FMJ M855 (1000 ROUNDS)
Hey there, ammo fans! Before we proceed, please know that this 1,000 round case of ammo has been re-packed from the original 1,250 round case as we find that 1,000 round cases are more sought after by customers. These are eight 125-round boxes of ammo, without the original Winchester larger cardboard case holding them all together.Looking for 5.56x45 M855 ammunition? You have finally found it! This is Winchester’s military-grade penetrator ammo, with green tip FMJ projectiles that will attract a magnet – but only because they are special.
The M855 bullet looks just like a standard FMJ with the exception of its painted tip. The paint indicates that the bullet’s core is lead in back, steel in front, which equips it to pierce sheet metal and other obstacles over impressively far ranges. You don’t want to use ammo like this to shoot steel targets, as it can damage the targets and also ricochet back toward the firing line, but the M855 bullet does have a good chance of breaking in half as it penetrates soft tissue in order to inflict dual wound channels.
The M855 round’s 62 grain bullet provides better long-range accuracy than the M193 round’s 55 grain bullet. Your rifle would ideally have a barrel twist of 1:9 or 1:8 while you are firing this ammo, but most shooters wouldn’t notice the difference a 1:7 twist would make.
This is new production ammo – it’s not military surplus, and it’s not reloaded. The military-grade brass cases weren’t polished during production, so you can still plainly see where they were annealed for added durability. This ammo is also non-corrosive Boxer-primed, and of course it is American-made. It’s Winchester!
