5.56X45 WINCHESTER 62 GRAIN FMJ M855 (200 ROUNDS)

“Magnetic” isn’t necessarily a code word for “inexpensively produced Russian-made bimetal jacket.” In certain cases the addition of magnetic steel actually makes a bullet better. Case in point: this 5.56x45 M855 ammo, by Winchester.

This round’s 62 grain bullet contains no steel in its gilding metal jacket. Instead the front section of its otherwise lead core is made of very hard steel. This “penetrator” tip reinforces the bullet, thus enabling it to pierce sheet metal like it’s made out of cereal box cardboard (within ranges up to 300 yards).

M855 ammo goes with an AR-15 rifle like peas and carrots. Any barrel with a 1:9 twist or faster will give a 62 grain bullet sufficient stability to hit its target (ideally 1:9 or 1:8). This ammo also features brand new brass cases, non-corrosive Boxer primers, and clean burning propellant. Fire this ammo the day you get it and then reload it that evening – just don’t take it to ranges which ban magnetic projectiles.
