When you couple its impressive long range performance with one of Hornady’s premiere hunting bullets, you’ve got a surefire recipe for success in the woods.This round features a 123 grain SST (Super Shock Tip) bullet. The SST’s sleek secant ogive geometry and boat tail both boost its ballistic coefficient for a flat trajectory. The SST is even more accurate thanks to its sharp, tapered polymer tip. That tip gives the SST its name, as it wedges into the core upon impact to unleash devastating expansion. The SST is equipped with Hornady’s InterLock ring, which inserts the jacket into the core to prevent them from splitting apart during penetration. Hornady thought out every part of the SST.
Hornady’s goal with their Custom label is to offer factory loads as high quality as a handloader could. These rounds’ new casings chamber properly in any AR, and their propellant weighs out to deliver consistent velocities.

Posted onUsed for deer hunting out of a Ruger bolt action. Expansion out past 200 yards was VIOLENT--almost like a varmint bullet but still managed decent penetration on medium sized deer. Accuracy was acceptable from my particular rifle.
