About This Remington 6.5MM CREEDMOOR Ammunition
Swift started out in 1982 making bullets out of old 22 LR hulls. Today the Kansas company exports their premium bullets to 24 countries worldwide, including Norma and Sako. But they also save some of their best for Remington, which is why this 6.5 Creedmoor hunting round features nothing less than the Swift Scirocco Bonded. The Scirocco Bonded’s defining feature is its Signature Black Tip. It is perfectly streamlined to reduce frontal air resistance, It makes the ideal meplat for a bullet with practically flawless jacket concentricity, a ballistically efficient secant ogive profile, and an optimally angled boat tail base. The low-drag and rotationally stable 130 grain Scirocco Bonded has a 0.547 G1 ballistic coefficient upon hitting 2,750 fps. In more illustrative terms, the bullet’s trajectory to 500 yards peaks at 19.25” (1.5” sight height), and it carries 1,500 ft lbs of kinetic energy to 300 yards.
The Signature Black Tip remains functional after impact, when it drives inward to catalyze fast and effective terminal expansion. As you rightly assumed, the Scirocco Bonded does have a bonded core and jacket, which ensures deep penetration with no less than 75% weight retention.
Remington’s Premier line of ammunition is aptly named. These rounds have carefully formed, polished and inspected cases, and primers and propellant that meet a discerning marksman’s standards.
