This cartridge is armed with a 142 grain hollow point boat tail. Contrary to what its appearance might suggest, the HPBT cannot expand should it find itself penetrating soft tissue. Its nose cavity is only present because the HPBT’s lead core was injected into place while it was liquified. Because the bullet’s core is form-fitted – and because its thin copper alloy jacket is so concentric – the HPBT’s rotational stability is par excellence.

The HPBT’s tapering base and ballistically efficient jacket profile complement its uniformly distributed weight to grant it a G1 BC of 0.553 (or 0.278 G7 BC, since this is a boat tail bullet we’re talking about). Sellier & Bellot loads high-quality reloadable brass cases of their own creation, non-corrosive Boxer primers, and powder that produces a consistent 2,625 fps muzzle velocity out of a 23.5” test barrel.
