About This Sellier & Bellot 6.5MM CREEDMOOR Ammunition
A hunting cartridge doesn’t need a hundred bells and whistles tied onto it to dazzle its shooter in the field. If your aim is true and your rifle’s a trustworthy piece of hardware, then we think you’ll be very pleased with Sellier & Bellot’s 6.5 Creedmoor ammo. This round’s 156 grain bullet breaks free of a 21 3/4” barrel at a consistent muzzle velocity of 2,444 fps. Its concentric jacket, streamlined profile, and rotationally stable lead core contribute to the bullet’s 0.456 ballistic coefficient, so its velocity shouldn’t transition to subsonic until well past 900 yards.
The bullet itself is a traditional soft point. With enough energy behind it such a bullet will begin warping and expanding immediately following penetration of hide. Sellier & Bellot jackets their soft point with CuZn 10 to promote smooth feeding, reliable penetration, and the prevention of fragmentation that could lead to too shallow a wound channel.
This round’s non-corrosive primer trustily jolts its clean burning propellant to life. Once you’ve seen primer, powder, and bullet all reliably used up, take this round’s brass case to a reloading bench for phase two!
