The 6.5 Creedmoor was originally developed specifically for long-range target shooting, but we can’t imagine the caliber’s inventors didn’t hope it would become popular for hunting as well. Long-range target shooting does have a lot to do with hunting, after all. This round features Winchester’s crowd favorite Power Point. The 129 grain bullet is a basic soft point, but being basic doesn’t matter when you work well. The Power Point’s soft lead core mushrooms outward as it penetrates, kept in check all the while by its gilding metal jacket. That the Power Point is so affordable may make you want to hunt with nothing else.

This round’s brass shell casing is tapered and annealed to be reloaded several times. Its Boxer primer sparks up its clean burning propellant to give you a 2,820 fps muzzle velocity, so you’ll be able to pick off a boar who hasn’t even smelled you yet. Not to suggest that you smell, of course.
