This cartridge is loaded with a 124 grain full metal jacket. It’s a non-expanding bullet and accordingly under-equipped to humanely anchor a whitetail (but we don’t want to imagine the monstrous rodent that this bullet couldn’t handle). Sellier & Bellot’s 100% nonmagnetic FMJ clears a 23.5” test barrel to exhibit a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.400. It’s flat-shooting, and able to avoid transonic destabilization until around 800 yards.
