7.62X39 WINCHESTER LAKE CITY 123 GRAIN FMJ (50 ROUNDS)
An estimated 40 to 150 million AK-47 rifles have been manufactured over the decades. That makes the Kalashnikov the most popular rifle in the world. The U.S. Armed Forces may not issue any firearms chambered for 7.62x39, but it only makes sense that the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant would produce the ammo for training exercises. And thanks to Winchester (which manages LCAAP), much of that fine ammo becomes available to the commercial market as well!
Here’s your chance to own a few boxes of hard-to-find American-made 7.62x39. It’s loaded with 123 grain steel-free full metal jacket projectiles: perfect for target practice, especially if you frequent a range which bans magnetic ammo. It’s also loaded with factory fresh brass cases, complete with noncorrosive Boxer primers, so you can finally try your hand at handloading the old 7.62 Russian.
This round’s charge of clean-burning propellant accelerates its projectile to a muzzle velocity of 2,335 fps. Its 0.245 G1 ballistic coefficient means that it’s due to drop to -15.6” 100 yards downrange of a 200-yard zero.
