7.62x39 WOLF 122 GRAIN FMJ (1000 ROUNDS)

These 7.62x39 Wolf cartridges come from either Ukraine or Russia and deliver a great shooting experience in SKS or AK pattern rifles at a low cost. Like Wolf's other offerings, this ammo uses a bimetal jacketed bullet and coated steel casings. While not reloadable, the steel cases help keep production costs down and result in the low price you see here. The bimetal bullets mostly perform the same as copper/gilding jacketed bullets, but do have some magnetic properties. Not all indoor ranges allow magnetic ammo, so make sure to check first before ordering. Alternatively, head to an outdoor range and blast away to your heart's content.

The rounds in this case of 1,000 (50 boxes of 20 rounds) use non-corrosive Berdan primers; while it's always a good idea to do a field strip and cleaning after each session, it's not strictly necessary with these rounds (unlike with corrosive surplus ammo).

    I've bought several 1000rd pkgs of the Wolf bulk ammo from this and other websites.
    For ordinary training and practice there's nothing better for the money.
    The fact that we can expect at-least one misfire per 20rds means we get plenty of practice at "Clearing the Misfire" which is an important skill to develop for real-life "practical shooting."
    A word on those misfires is in order. The actual origin of the ammo is not considered. It says
    Wolf Ammo so we call it "Wolf Ammo."
    Without exception, we're using "enhanced" firing pins in BCGs and uppers assembled by reputable companies. In EVERY incident where we experience a Fail-To-Fire the primer shows a deep strike from the firing pin. Most of these F-T-Fs would-not fire when tried a 2nd time in the chamber.
    We continue to buy this ammo for no other considerations than price, fast delivery and training value.
    We only recommend this ammo for real-world use if you have no other ammo options.

    I shot this ammo thru a Ruger Mini-30 and got an avg velocity of 2378fps for 5 shots. Those shots also gave me a group with 2 raged holes and a total spread for both about 3/4" at 50yd (my zero distance.)
    I had 2 light firing-pin strikes that needed a 2nd try which fired and went right into the group.
    BTW, Light primer strikes are usually NOT the fault of the ammo. They're from a firing pin that is too short for reliable use with milspec-"ish" ammo, (a very well known phenomenon.)
    That 50yd zero gives me workable trajectory for 300yds without changing anything on my 1~5x circle-dot scope. I surprised myself by making 1-shot hits on plates out to 150yds and then a steel pig at 225yds, coyote at 250 and a leaning 2-Liter shaped steel at 270yds. One shot each and all with the rifle in my hands (no rest) and elbows on the table. Zombies Beware! (evil grin)

    I ordered the ammo, the main box has wolf ammo on it. Open to the little boxes that are labeled WPA when I take out the bullets they are Tula bullets. I never had issues with wpa or wolf. Tula ammo always had issues getting then to fire reliably. Could just be my luck.

    I received a case of this ammo, wolf 7.62x39. Case is marked wolf but not a standard flat pack so I opened it. Wolf boxes inside so I opened one box and it's not wolf ammo, it is cheaper quality tulammo as marked on the casing

    I have only ordered from Ammoman twice. Once several years ago and then last week. I ordered on a Tuesday morning and it shipped out that day. Ammo was waiting at my house two days later. Thats amazing. Wolf 7.62x39 is a cheap, but great round for an AK. I have put thousands of rounds of wolf through different calibers and never had an issue. Cheap, consistent and fairly accurate for what you pay. Wolf is the round I always go to for my AK.
