This round is loaded with a 147 grain eXtreme Terminal Performance (XTP) jacketed hollow point projectile. The bullet’s slow 975 fps muzzle velocity doesn’t break the sound barrier. That means the bullet won’t issue a sharp cracking report, and it also prevents the bullet from undergoing transonic destabilization. The XTP’s concentric jacket and swaged lead core both give the bullet outstanding in-flight rotational stability, which is how it keeps its nose pointed straight at its target.

The XTP’s jacket fully shields its nose cavity, which protects it against becoming damaged before it can fully penetrate thick clothing.
