About This Independence 9mm Luger Ammunition
We love plinking. We haven’t had recycling that wasn’t riddled with bullet holes since 1982. That’s why we also love big cases of 9mm ammo by Independence, whose range cartridges are just as good for serious target practice as well.This cartridge has its caliber’s middleweight 124 grain projectile, and its muzzle velocity is accordingly subsonic at 1,080 fps. That’s great if you like a little less “KERPOW” to follow after every shot you fire. Independence’s FMJ bullet is consistent, balanced, and clean shooting. This bullet has a streamlined round nose profile for good accuracy, yet that design does preclude the terminal expansion you’d want for self-defense.
Independence is a subsidiary of Vista Outdoors, the same outfit that owns Speer and Federal. As such these rounds’ components and the standards to which they have been assembled are both high quality. Their primers and propellant burn clean, and their brass casings feed, chamber, and extract smoothly even after a couple reloads.
