Hornady Critical Defense Lite ammunition is the perfect choice for shooters looking for a low-recoil self-defense round. These cartridges fire a light 100 grain Flex-Tip hollow point with a distinctive pink soft polymer tip. Far from being decorative, the tip serves to prevent the expansion cavity from clogging as the projectile passes through barriers or clothing.

This ammunition achieves the same external ballistics as standard Critical Defense ammo (including a muzzle velocity of 1,125 feet per second) while producing 27% less felt recoil. While the light 100 grain bullet does give up a bit of energy in exchange for the reduced kick, it still provides 10 inches of penetration in ballistic gel.
