Hornady Critical Duty ammo is designed to meet the needs of law enforcement users, particularly in the area of penetration. This 9mm Luger +P ammunition fires a 135 grain FlexLock hollow point bullet at a muzzle velocity of 1,110 feet per second and is capable of defeating barriers such as sheet metal and vehicle glass that might otherwise shield an assailant.To achieve superior ballistics, this ammo uses a high pressure loading that may not be suitable for all firearms (particularly subcompact and older ones).
The FlexLock bullet is distinguished by its soft polymer insert, which fills the expansion cavity and prevents clogging of barrier materials as the bullet travels toward its target. FlexLock rounds also feature a locking band for superior weight retention.
This ammo is loaded in Grand Island, Nebraska and comes in boxes of 25. It uses non-corrosive Boxer primers and nickel-plated brass cases.
